Who Would Jesus Bomb?

02.20.11

Living here in SW Missouri, 'Bible-Belt' country, it's usually easy to pick out the really intense 'Gawd' following lovers of Jesus Christ, AKA the "Prince of Peace.'

They're the ones with a look on their faces that I've only seen before in people who snorted too much cocaine or took too much MDA.

They almost accost you, bursting at the seams to tell you about how much they love Jesus, at the same time, cheering lustily every time some poor, harmless Muslim family gets blown to smithereens by a Hellfire missile fired from some Predator drone.

Thanks to the unusually warm weather, I've been able to wear my "Who Would Jesus Bomb?" T-shirt and have gotten some curious looks.

Some get a quizzical look on their faces, not understanding the satire. Others let a smile break out and they understand the point behind the question.

But others, the hard-core 'Christians,' get an insane look of hatred on their face and I truly believe that if they had a club handy, would go about bashing in my brains to show Jesus how much they loved him by dispatching this infidel.

These are the ones I don't understand, but they're also the ones who would only worship a lily-white skinned Jesus. Considering that JC was born in Palestine over 2,000 years ago, his skin color was most likely brown, maybe even black.
But the Church fathers back in ancient times knew that future generations of potential followers they could extort money from wouldn't worship no 'darkie,' so hence the porcelain-skinned JC who looks like the next door neighbor's 'hippy' kid.

How can one profess to be a follower of the 'Prince of Peace,' yet be a war-monger? This is what I don't understand about modern Christianity and most of its followers.

I'm a believer and lover of peace, yet I know that sometimes, one has to fight to protect yourself, your loved ones or even your country, if it's being invaded.

But these never ending 'Wars for Wall Street and Israel' are immoral and illegal and for so many Christians to be cheerleaders for this state-sanctioned genocide is something I'll never understand.

Samuel Johnson, the 18th Century British author said: "Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel."

If Mr. Johnson were around today, I believe he would say, "Modern day Christianity is the last refuge of the scoundrel."

Who would Jesus bomb? This is a question that requires the use of brain cells, however few might be needed for such a Q. Born agains run on emotion, not thought. They have never learned to reason or see beyond the obvious to find the truth....

Heck, who do you think tunes into Jeff Beck and his crap and agree with his delusions? Your shirt poses a question that they cannot fathom... Jesus? alive today? right there you have a problem....

Jesus is not an Aryan? He had to be! He never spoke of suicide bombers in the Bible ... so he cannot be swarthy and babble in those funny languages...

Glad you cleared that up. There's some music Jeff did with Rod Stewart on vocals and a bass player by the name of Ron Wood that's pretty tasty stuff.

You two crack me up!

Noor, my fav past time in DC was to visit The National Gallery of Arts and check out all the Madonna and child related stuff.

Some of the babies gave me the nightmares, most of them had creepy grown up man's head on a child's body and bland adult expressions as well.

Check this one, he looks like baby geert wilders!

Oh wait ... there are more! You have to visit and check all that out someday. ;)

Nooooo!! JC = JB??
Like our fav singer justin beiber?

12 years ago, there was another teeny heartthrob making the waves - justin timberlake or JT for the die hard fans. Sadly He's pushing 30, so he is on his way to be replaced with JB, since the spoilbergs and berney franks of the world don't find JT "cute" anymore.

Do not speak so easily about the church fathers. You do not have a clue for their works, as I see. You have such a nice webpage, why don't you check all things you think before writing them?

Hey GB,...Like the yiddish khazars squatting in The Palestine, are not judahites; the xtian fundies are not practitioners of Christian teachings. The term "Christian", like "jew" is a misnomer and is used to obfuscate the truth for political reasons; however, Jesus was not a peace-nik, nor was he white (how?) a simple search of the ethnicity of the inhabitants of ancient Nazareth will give any searcher an accurate description of the indigenous peoples.

It is a shame (and purpose built) that the concepts and intentions of Jesus have been corrupted, so much so that the dysfunctional contradictory caricature that is the modern "xtian tcherch" is so ridiculous and impotent.

I believe in the concept of Love, Light & Peace as espoused through the sermon on the mount, Why? Because I am tired of living in a world of the alternative, created by yiddish khazars.

Jesus said “blessed are the peacemakers,” he also said: “I am come not to bring peace, but a sword” (Matthew 10:34). The implication here is that being a “peacemaker” does not always mean turning the other cheek to evil. To do what is right will sometimes cause conflict. Jesus commanded the “turning of the other cheek” when He was slapped by one of the officers at His trial, he did not meekly turn the other cheek, but replied with a challenge which, though not physical retaliation, was certainly a strong verbal rebuke.

If violence can be avoided, then talk; if "Peace-talks" are an obvious scam: Then enforce the PEACE!

Excellent reportage as usual GB.

The "Christians" in America may be the most brainwashed segment of our population, and that's saying something considering all the ignorant folks that populate this land. Truly heartbreaking my friend. Glad you're going what you can. Always enjoy reading your blog.

I have and know that the Council of Nicaea, 325 CE, the Church fathers offically declared JC the 'son' of God.

Before then, he was only worshipped as a prophet.
