The TPP Isn't Dead, It Will Rise Again Like Dracula to Drain Our Economic Lifeblood

Now is not the time to celebrate a victory over this job stealing, Bill of Rights smashing, ecological disaster in the making, since only ONE vote was against 'fast-tracking,' not against the actual TPP. This weekend you can be assured, hundreds of lobbyists, carrying briefcases filled with cash, are flooding Capitol Hill, buying the votes needed to pass this nightmare.

There are others also stalking Capitol Hill, rounding up the votes needed to pass this abomination, but they don't carry money, just audio and video tapes of some Congressman's homosexual trysts, which he would like to keep in a very full closet.
Or videos of that trip to the Tel Aviv brothel, the one that dealt with very kinky sex, some of which would be unlawful back home, at the very least, not something they'd want their Bible Thumping electorate to see.

They too will gather votes.

And the largest blood-sucking single-cell organism known, AIPAC, is working feverishly behind the scenes to get those obscene trade agreements passed, since the trade pacts will neuter the BDS campaign against Apartheid Israel.

Don't declare victory just yet, keep at your Congressional reps to vote against this monster or else kiss what's left of your freedoms and bank account goodbye.

Flush the TPP!
The Trans-Pacific Partnership is not about free trade. It’s a corporate coup d’├ętat—against us!

This thing is a supersized and nuclearized NAFTA, the 1994 trade scam rammed through Congress by Bill Clinton, Wall Street’s Robert Rubin, and the entire corporate establishment. They promised that the “glories of globalization” would shower prosperity across our land.

They lied. Corporations got the gold. We got the shaft—thousands of factories closed, millions of middle-class jobs went south, and the economies of hundreds of towns and cities (including Detroit) were hollowed out. (Most Mexicans got the NAFTA shafta, too. US grain traders like ADM dumped corn into Mexico, wiping out millions of peasant farmers’ livelihoods, and thousands of local businesses were crushed when Walmart invaded with its Chinese-made wares.) Twenty years later, the corporate gang that stuck us with NAFTA is back, hoping to fool us with an even more destructive multinational deal.
10 Tall Tales on Trade: Fact-Checking Obama’s Top Trade Official

We Won’t Be Fooled by Rigged Corporate Trade Agreements

The Obama administration has been negotiating the TPP in secret for more than three years. Unlike past trade agreements, the text of the TPP is classified, and members of Congress have restricted access to it. If they do read the text, they are not allowed to copy it or discuss any specifics of it. However, more than 600 corporate advisers have direct access to the text on their computers.

Only five of the 29 chapters contain provisions related to trade. The other chapters consist of provisions related to patent protections, investor state rights and finance deregulation, among others. The TPP is a backdoor corporate power grab to advance the stalled WTO agenda. Or as Sachie Mizohata writes in Asia Times, “The TPP is a Trojan horse, branded as a ‘free trade’ agreement, but having nothing to do with fair and equitable treatment. In reality, it is precisely ‘a wish list of the 1% – a worldwide corporate power.'"
Add in the fact that this monstrosity would stay secret for FOUR MORE YEARS after passing and the only answer is NO!

  2. Genie, this ain't over, this week will be crucial. Remember back when Obama wanted the Congress to bail out those Wall Street 'TBTF' banks and the first House vote failed?

People were cheering, thinking the battle had been won, when it was only a ploy to divert attention away so the next vote would pass, which it did.
