Review finds no link between Saddam, al Qaeda

By Warren P. Strobel MCCLATCHY NEWSPAPERS Tuesday, March 11, 2008

WASHINGTON — An exhaustive review of more than 600,000 Iraqi documents that were captured after the 2003 U.S. invasion has found no evidence that Saddam Hussein's regime had any operational links with Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda terrorist network.

The Pentagon-sponsored study, scheduled for release this week, did confirm that Saddam's regime provided some support to other terrorist groups, U.S. officials told McClatchy Newspapers. However, his security services were directed primarily against Iraqi exiles, Shiite Muslims, Kurds and others he considered enemies of his regime.

The new study of the Iraqi regime's archives found no documents indicating a "direct operational link" between Saddam's Iraq and al Qaeda before the invasion, according to a U.S. official familiar with the report.

He and others spoke to McClatchy on condition of anonymity because the study isn't due to be released before Wednesday.

President Bush and his aides used Saddam's alleged relationship with al Qaeda as an argument for invading Iraq after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The new study, titled "Saddam and Terrorism: Emerging Insights from Captured Iraqi Documents," was essentially completed last year and has been undergoing what one U.S. intelligence official described as a "painful" declassification review.

It was produced by a federally funded think tank, the Institute for Defense Analyses, under contract to the U.S. Joint Forces Command.

"This is not a conspiracy. That is the policy, I didn't like to keep it a secret, maybe; but I can tell you now, I will challenge any of the 99 senators to tell us why we are in Iraq, other then what the policy is here.... everybody knows it is because we want to secure our friend Israel " - Sen Ernst Hollings

Little by little, the truth about the lies that got the U.S. into the illegal and immoral war against Iraq come dribbling out, like so much blood dripping out of the wound of an American soldier, dying a slow death in Iraq.

Will the MSM report on these lies and bring forth accusations against the pack of liars who helped jump start this war? NO.

Why? Because the Zionist owned MSM is too busy inteviewing some of these same liars--Bolton, Perle, Rice, Cheney--who lied us into the war against Iraq and who are now being pushed as "experts" on Iran, the next war to be fought by American kids for Israel.

How many more wars will the U.S. fight for Israel? One? Two? Three? How many more thousands of US troops are you willing to see come home in a flag-draped coffin, killed fighting another of Israel's "existential" enemies?

How many more? 15,000? 20,000? 50,000? How many of our children do you want to see killed fighting for Israel?
