9/11: Why Hasn't the USA Tried & Convicted Bin Laden?

Americans have been told at least a gazillion times that 'Bynjamin' Laden was behind the 9/11 attacks.

We've been told a trillion times that they had all the evidence needed to convict 'Binjamin' Laden.

We've been told a billion times that 'Bennie' Laden must be caught, 'Dead or Alive.'

So why not try 'Benjamin' Laden "In Absentia," convict him with all that evidence they proclaim to have and find him guilty? Or would that trial not be a 'slam dunk?'

Would actually capturing the dead Bin Laden fug up some serious plans to wage "Wars for Wall Street and Israel?'
Interview on Meet the Press

Secretary Colin L. Powell Washington, DC September 23, 2001

QUESTION: Are you absolutely convinced that Usama bin Laden was responsible for this attack?

SECRETARY POWELL: I am absolutely convinced that the al-Qaida network, which he heads, was responsible for this attack. You know, it's sort of al-Qaida -- the Arab name for it is "the base"-- it's something like a holding company of terrorist organizations that are located in dozens of countries around the world, sometimes tightly controlled, sometimes loosely controlled. And at the head of that organization is Usama bin Laden. So what we have to do in the first phase of this campaign is to go after al-Qaida and go after Usama bin Laden. But it is not just a problem in Afghanistan; it's a problem throughout the world. That's why we are attacking it with a worldwide coalition.

QUESTION: Will you release publicly a white paper, which links him and his organization to this attack, to put people at ease?

SECRETARY POWELL: We are hard at work bringing all the information together, intelligence information, law enforcement information. And I think, in the near future, we will be able to put out a paper, a document, that will describe quite clearly the evidence that we have linking him to this attack. And also, remember, he has been linked to earlier attacks against US interests and he was already indicated for earlier attacks against the United States
Remember that when the Bush-Cheney Junta demanded that Afghanistan turn 'Benjamin' Laden over to the USA, they replied that all they needed was some proof, like that 'White Paper,' promised by Secretary Powelll that would show his guilt and that BL be turned over to a neutral 3rd country for trial.

The Bush-Cheney Junta's reply was to start carpet bombing parts of Afghanistan and using mercs and CIA ops to murder selected Afghans.

The psyops campaign to keep the USA fighting Muslims for Israel in Afghanistan is in full swing.

Witness the CBS program "60 Minutes" doing a story on the war against Afghanistan for the last three weeks.

Stories that bordered on the Bushism, "We must honor their sacrifice" by what, getting more of our troops killed in an illegal and immoral war?

More "60 Minutes" lies about 'Binjamin' Laden still being alive and the absolute need to catch him, 'Dead or Alive.'

What a large and steaming crock of you know what.

Winning in Aghan or Iraq is not the goal; the goal is limited, perpetual warfare to last for decades or until the USA collapses economically from fighting these 'Wars for Wall Street' and Israel.'

My money's on the latter.
White House reneges on proof of bin Laden’s guilt 29 September 2001

Within a day of an announcement by the Bush administration that it would provide proof that Osama bin Laden and his Al Qaeda organization were responsible for the September 11 terror attacks, the government reneged on its pledge.

Last Sunday, Secretary of State Colin Powell appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” and said the government would soon “put out a paper ... that will describe clearly the evidence that we have linking” bin Laden to the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

Powell was responding to pressure on the US from governments in the Middle East, as well as some of Washinton’s NATO allies, who are demanding something more than bald assertions that bin Laden and his Afghan protectors are guilty of the terror attacks on New York and Washington before fully committing themselves to support American military strikes. He was also responding to widespread unease and skepticism within the American population toward the government’s claims, as well as its plans for an open-ended war—feelings that persist despite grief and anger over the attacks on September 11, and a relentless media campaign to whip the country into a patriotic frenzy.

At the Monday press conference, Fleischer maintained that the evidence on bin Laden was classified, and releasing it would compromise US intelligence agencies. Even the thoroughly housebroken members of the White House press corps found this explanation hard to swallow. One reporter directly asked the press secretary whether there was “any plan to present public evidence so that the average citizen, not just Americans, but people all over the world can understand the case against bin Laden.”

Fleischer dodged the question, repeating there was no timetable for releasing any evidence. He added cynically: “In a democracy it’s always important to provide the maximum amount of information possible. But I think the American people also understand that there are going to be times when that information cannot immediately be forthcoming.”
Ari, it's been nearly nine years now, do you think it's OK to release that 'Top Secret' info you have on 'Binjamin' Laden.

I'm sure Bin Laden won't mind, since his corpse has been rotting in a grave since December 2001.

Pentagon still tries to steer media coverage on Iraq/Af-Pac Wars

FBI's Most Wanted Terrorist page listing of Bin Laden still does not say anything about 9/11, but it does say this in regards to convicting people In Absentia:

The alleged terrorists on this list have been indicted by sitting Federal Grand Juries in various jurisdictions in the United States for the crimes reflected on their wanted posters. Evidence was gathered and presented to the Grand Juries, which led to their being charged. The indictments currently listed on the posters allow them to be arrested and brought to justice. Future indictments may be handed down as various investigations proceed in connection to other terrorist incidents, for example, the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

From the Comments section of the Democratic Underground article:

...the 'Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon' game.

Some of 9/11 happened in New York - Kevin Bacon has been to New York - Kevin Bacon met Bill Clinton - Bill Clinton Met George W. Bush - Bush knows the Bin Ladins - Osama is a Bin Ladin.

There! Proof positive that Osama is linked to 9/11. Any other questions I can help with?

  1. Even binni has an official jingle, like everyone else in the corporate world.

You spin me right round in my grave
    right round

    Like a record baby
    in my grave
    right round

  2. I have asked this question countless times: why not try him anyway? If it is such a slamdunk case, what is the hold up?

We know the answer, but what the F is wrong with most other Americans?

  3. Can a dead man be tried?

Sounds like that scene from "Moutiny on the Bounty," When Captain Bligh orders that a dead man still be lashed.
